Some celebrities are completely comfortable with going nude for the more exposed scenes in their films and TV shows. There are, however, other celebrities who are not comfortable with the world seeing everything and have clauses that say as much written into their contracts. As star with a squeaky-clean image, Blake had this to say about nude scenes: “When I see nudity in movies, I am always distracted by it. I know that if I am watching a scene and someone has their boobs out, then that’s all I’m looking at — I can’t help it. I just don’t think that will ever be right for me.”
The Pitch Perfect star revealed that she has a strict policy when it comes to her films and would not be willing to take off her clothes for future roles. Although many people thought she was filmed in the buff for Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates, that was actually a butt double.
This is what Jen had to say about her feelings on on-screen exposure: “I will not be taking it all off!” She also insisted that there was “zero percent” chance that she would ever take her clothes off for a role, adding, “No, thank you. The world deserves better. Not interested.”
The mother-of-three (she just had a newborn!) says she has a good reason for not wanting to take it all off on-screen: “I don’t want my grandparents to see my boobs. That’s it. It would be weird at Christmas. And, I mean, really, if you look at the movies I have done, getting naked would never elevate the picture.”
The occasional-actress also has a strict policy when it comes to her professional work: “I don’t care how dark and intellectual the role could be, you know? I don’t care if I frickin’ get an Oscar for it, I’m not going to do it. Those accolades mean nothing to me. I don’t think people deserve to see what’s underneath my clothing. That’s only for my husband.”
The actress’s career has spanned across more than three decades, and while she has starred in a wide range of roles, the one thing she claims she won’t ever do in a film is bare it all. In a 2007 interview she said, “To act with my clothes on is a performance. To act with my clothes off is a documentary.”
The beloved Frozen star has a fanbase of kids, so it makes sense that she doesn’t want to get naked on screen. “I don’t show my crack! All the Mr. Skins of the world are like, ‘Ooh, Kristen gets naked!’ I’m like, ‘Dream on!” she told the media in her signature comedic manner.
While her character did appear nude on Game of Thrones, it wasn’t Lena, it was a body double. The actress did the walk of shame with her head superimposed into a body double. No shame here: “Because none of it is about vanity for me — none of it — otherwise I couldn’t do it. It would be a hindrance.
“It would be completely uncomfortable to walk down the street and know that the person passing by had seen me without my clothes on. I’ve turned down several roles where the producers or directors or writers wouldn’t budge on that point,” says Mandy of her desire to remain clothed in movies.
The beloved That 70’s Show star is no stranger to sex scenes but won’t show everything off to everyone. She once penned a scathing open letter about an unnamed Hollywood producer who told her she’d “never work again in this town” when she refused to pose half-naked on the cover of a magazine.
The O.C. actress almost lost a role because of her refusal to go nude: “Movies can be sexy or sexual without showing things. It’s almost a deal breaker. The movie was rated R, and they like to put in nudity wherever they can, but I’m pretty strong willed and believe it can be avoided.”
The Sex and The City star famously had a no-nudity contract when it came to the “sex” part: “I’ve always had [a no nudity clause], and it’s apropos of absolutely nothing. Some people have a perks list and they are legendary. They have to have white candles in their room. I don’t have a crazy list like that. I’ve just always had no-nudity.”
