6 Cat Cafes In Singapore For A Purrfectly Fun Time
While away an afternoon with furry, adorable feline companions
By Michelle Lee SM -
For cat lovers or those curious about them, our island isn't short on cat cafes to get acquainted with these furry felines. It's also a good way for kids to learn to interact with cats without the full-time commitment of being a pet owner.
Many cat cafes in Singapore house rescued cats, and some also offer the option to adopt adorable felines, too. Just be sure of the responsibility and commitment it entails before you decide to bring one home!
1. The Cat Cafe
The Cat Cafe has two outlets in Singapore, one at Bugis, and the other at The Rail Mall in Bukit Timah. According to The Cafe Cafe, the 15 cats at its Bugis outlet are senior, and generally calmer around humans, while the 14 furbabies at The Rail Mall are younger and more active and playful.
You can also have a beverage as well as savoury bites like chicken mushroom pie, lasagne, and baked chicken rice, as well as cakes and ice cream.
Rates: $18 per person for two hours, inclusive of one free canned drink, and $4.50 for every additional half hour. $40 for a whole day pass (weekdays only), inclusive of one free drink of your choice.
The Cat Cafe is at 241B Victoria Street, Singapore 188030, and 392 Upp Bukit Timah Rd Singapore 678046. Visit its Instagram page to make reservations or for more information.
2. Wildflower Studio
If art jamming with the company of feline friends sounds like your idea of heaven, then make your way to Wildflower Studio, located near Little India MRT station.
Choose from two options: a Semi Guided Art Jam with Cats session that has art facilitators on hand to guide you in your artwork or the casual unguided Chill out with Cats session where you can choose to paint or hang out with cats (or do both!) at your own pace.
Private events can be held here too - great for birthday or hen parties!
Rates: $20 for the first hour and $8 (weekdays) $10 (PH & weekends) every 30mins thereafter the Chill Out With Cats session. $48 for 2.5 hours for the Semi-Guided Art Jam with Cats session
Wildflower Studio is at 56A Niven Road, Singapore 228405. Visit its website to book or for more information.
3. The Cat Museum
The Cat Museum is a registered non-profit animal welfare organisation run entirely by volunteers. It spans three levels of a shophouse unit and is designed to resemble a home setting so you can imagine having a furball in your space. Each visit is at $20 per hour, with 100 per cent of funds raised going towards housing, food and supplies, and vet bills for the cats.
All children aged 0 to 16 years require a ticket and must be accompanied by an adult.
Rates: $20 per hour
The Cat Museum is at 781A North Bridge Road, #02-01, Singapore 198749. Visit its website to book or for more information. Open for visits on Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun.
4. Meomi Cat Cafe
Located near Haji Lane is Meomi Cat Cafe. Here, you can get acquainted with its nine adorable kitties, which you can catch hanging out on the cat trees and climbing towers, or having an afternoon cat nap.
While you're there, you can chill out with a selection of beverages including tea, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as snacks such as cakes, waffles, wraps and croissants.
Children have to be seven years old to visit.
Rates: From $14 per adult and $7 per child with a complimentary drink for the first hour. Every subsequent half-hour is $5 per adult and $3 per child.
Meomi Cat Cafe is at 668 North Bridge Road, Singapore 188801. Visit its Instagram page to book or for more information.
5. Meownistry of Meow
The Meownistry of Meow isn't so much a cafe as it is a co-working space. There's a cosy lounge area with tables and chairs as well as free wifi and ample power points so you can get work done (if you aren't distracted by the cute furry residents, that is).
And if you're looking to sing karaoke, or play console games, there are also private rooms. Each booking comes with a free-flow of drinks (there are beverages in the fridge as well as a coffee machine), but you can bring your own food and drink - just be sure not to leave them around.
If you're thinking of getting a pet cat, the Meownistry of Meow also doubles as a temporary foster home for stray, abandoned and rescued cats looking for a forever home.
Rates: From $10 per hour, $18 for two hours, and $30 for a whole day pass. Bundle deals are available.
Meownistry of Meow is at 4A Jalan Klapa Singapore 199316.
6. Cat Paradise Singapore
Cat Paradise Singapore is an adoption centre and cafe rolled into one — here visitors can interact with the adorable feline residents, and the cats are free to roam about in a home-like environment. In doing so, they hope for prospective cat owners to connect with the cats and potentially adopt one.
It even offers photography services too, where you can book a photoshoot session for a keepsake of your time with the furbabies. The proceeds go to providing care and support for the cats.
For cat owners, Cat Paradise also offers cat boarding facilities, with both cabin and suite options to house your precious companions.
Rates: $18 for the first hour, and $12 for the second hour onwards. $40 for a day pass (weekdays only)
Cat Paradise is at 23 Upper Weld Road #02-01, Singapore 207380. Visit its website for bookings or for more information.
